In addition to Olympians such as Oscar Robertson, UC has had dozens of other alumni go on to outstanding careers as professional athletes. Here is a sampling:

Jack Twyman, Ed '55 -- NBA Hall of Famer who appeared in six all-star games as a Cincinnati Royal, 1955-66

Tony Trabert, A&S '52, HonDoc '07 -- Tennis champ who captured three of the four Grand Slam singles titles in 1955

Sandy Koufax, att '55 -- One of the most dominating pitchers in MLB history with five straight ERA titles and no-hitters in four consecutive seasons as a Dodger, 1955-66

Brig Owens, Ed '65, HonDoc '08 -- NFL defensive back who specialized in interceptions for the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, 1966-77

Greg Cook, CAS '68 -- AFL's best passer his rookie year with the Cincinnati Bengals, 1969

Nick Van Exel, att '92 -- NBA player who averaged more than 14 points and 6 assists with several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, 1993-2006

Danny Fortson, att '97 -- NBA player who averaged a double-double in points and rebounds three of his 10 seasons that ended with the Seattle Supersonics, 1997-2007

Jason Fabini, Bus '97 -- NFL offensive lineman with New York Jets and Washington Redskins, 1998-present

Kenyon Martin, Ed '00 -- NBA player who has averaged more than 7 rebounds and 14 points a game with the New Jersey Nets and Denver Nuggets, 2000-present

Rich Franklin, A&S '97, MEd '01 -- Ultimate fighter once regarded as the best middleweight mixed martial arts fighter in the world, 2000-present

Trent Cole, att '04 -- NFL linebacker and a 2007 Pro bowler with the Philadelphia Eagles, 2005-present

Kevin Youkilis, Bus '01 -- MLB first baseman is a two-time World Series champ and 2008 Hank Aaron Award winner with the Boston Red Sox, 2005-present
