A crowd of nearly 7,000 (including these rabid Eric Hicks fans) showed up for UC’s first NIT game in 15 years, surprising even interim coach Andy Kennedy who pointed out that UC was drawing against the NCAA tourney on TV, Saint Patrick’s Day and Spring Break. Plus, the UC game was televised.

Senior Eric Hicks records one of his 106 blocked shots this year. One more, and Hicks will tie Kenyon Martin’s school record for the most blocked shots in a season. He is only three behind Jason Maxiell’s career total of 252, which would place him second behind Martin’s 292.

Hicks celebrates the win following his 13th double-double of the season. He finished with 23 points and 18 rebounds.

Cedric McGowan also recorded a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds.
