UC's connection to 'The Hunger Games' continues
CCM alumnus makeup artist Bradley Look once again part of 'Hunger Games' professional staff
by Deborah Rieselman
With the long-awaited opening of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” on Nov. 21, 2013, UC viewers should be careful to notice the makeup because UC graduate Bradley Look was one of the makeup artists for the movie, just as he was when the original "Hunger Games" was released last year. An Emmy-winner with nine additional prime-time Emmy nominations, Look, MFA (CCM) '88, is one of the most sought-after makeup artists in the industry.
His Emmy win for Outstanding Makeup for a Series came in 1995 for his work on “Star Trek: Voyager.” His remaining nominations came for “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” in 1996, ’97, ’99; “Star Trek: Voyager” in 2001; "Star Trek" Enterprise" in 2002, ’03, ’05; "Pushing Daisies” in 2008; and "How I Met Your Mother" in 2011.
A few of his other movies include “Lincoln” in 2012, “Thor” in 2011, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” in 2008 and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End” in 2007. He is currently working on “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” as head of the makeup department. That movie is due out on April 4, 2014.
