A UC alum was nearly eliminated from the competition in the March 20 episode of "Under the Gunn," a Project Runway style show on Lifetime.

Asha Daniels, a 2013 UC fashion design grad, still remains one of the contestants in the design reality show. In the recent episode, the designers were challenged to create a head-to-toe look that embraces the Francesca's customer. (Francesca's, a fashion and accessories boutique, is one of the sponsors of "Under the Gunn.") The designers were placed in pairs across mentor groups.

Daniels was teamed with the often-flustered Natalia Fedner. The two finished in last place and received harsh criticism from the judges. One called Fedner's dress "nearing the worst construction I've ever seen." Both Daniels and Fedner were in tears on the runway. Fedner was eliminated from the competition, and Daniels stayed.

The remaining five designers, including Asha, advance to the next challenge, airing March 27. The winner of "Under the Gunn" receives $100,000, a new Lexus, a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine and other prizes.
