CCM student hobnobs with artists

Besides electronic media, the only other College-Conservatory of Music program requiring internships is arts administration. One of its students, Stacey Czar, had an executive internship last summer with the director of a contemporary visual arts organization in the Berkshires resort area of Massachusetts.

She enjoyed getting to hobnob with resident artists, but also learned how demanding it was to accommodate everyone's wishes. "I was able to assist in curatorial duties, fundraising, marketing research, PR, everything," she says. "And as glamorous as that sounds, 'everything' included cleaning toilets. I really got to know what it's like to be an executive director of a small organization, which is what I want to do in the future."
