Campus Recreation Center voted No. 1 nationally

Come see why UC’s Campus Recreation Center was named No. 1 among the “25 most amazing campus student recreation centers” in the country by the 2013 publication Best College Reviews. “UC students have all the amenities that modern students expect, but they enjoy partaking of them in world-class architectural achievements, which is a big part of why Cincinnati takes our top spot,” the announcement read.

This facility is a far cry from the average local gym. Besides numerous ways to work up a sweat, its relaxing alternatives include a leisure pool, massage with hot-stone treatments, Reiki and 80 free fitness classes a week.

Amenities include the following:

  • 40-foot climbing wall
  • 250 machines and 21,000 pounds of free weights
  • four-lane, 1/8-mile suspended track
  • Olympic-size swimming pool
  • a current channel, waterfall and “bubble couch”
  • 104-degree whirlpool
  • locker and towel rentals
