With Fifth Third Arena under construction, UC hosted spring commencement old-school style — outdoors in Nippert Stadium, a venue the university hasn’t used for graduation since 1984. While a massive storm dampened things for the earlier doctoral hooding and master’s recognition, the skies cleared in time for the undergraduate ceremony. In total, UC conferred 6,317 degrees under mostly blue skies.
One of those belonged to Codee Boyce. She dedicated her special day to her father, who died before her 16th birthday. For five years, she pushed herself and ultimately graduated magna cum laude with a degree in international business and marketing.
Today she’s got a “dream” marketing gig with Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, and shares the following about her UC journey: “I fell in love, traveled the world, got pushed down, got back up, made many sacrifices and always led with my heart.”
